FOX TERRIER CLUB.
A special meeting c£ members of the recently-formed Fox Terrier Club was held at the Empire Buildings on the Ist. Mr E. Webster was in the chair, and the members present were Messrs Thomson. Snow, Hastie, Henderson. Shaw, MofTbtt, Menzies, Rosen, Wales, and Sword. The secretary (Mr Wycherley) read the ■draft of rules, which were then considered seriatim, and with. amendments, were A new rule was incorporated as follows—" To be eligible to compete a member must be elected and' his subscription be paid l before the closing of entries of those shows at which the club's trophies are to be competed for." The Chairman informed the meeting that Mr W. C'rossan had promised a two guinea gold medal for the best dog pup (smooth) in the 1911 show Mr R. S. Menzies was appointed hon. auditor. The secretary announced that 37 members were now enrolled. It was resolved to recommend the New Zealand Kennel Club that the clause in the rules stating that a delegate must reside in the province which he represents be deleted. After the ordinary business had been disposed of a general discussion of • matters connected with the dog fancy took place, and several of those present expressed dissatisfaction at the manner in which the New Zealand Kennel Club, as the governing body, conducted its affairs.
