The Oamaru Mail states the local bakers do not intend to lower the price of bread 1 . The reason for this ie that when the price of flour was raised they did not burden their customers with the rise. While the 41b loaf has cost 8d in the cities since the risa in the price of flour, Oamaru householders have been paying 7d all along. In some places 6gdl is charged for cash andl 7d booked, but no distinction is made at Oamaru.
