DR HENRY'S MISSION.
CHRISTCHURCH, June 3. The Dr Henry mission in Christchurch has already seized the city. The addresses to business men on the future of the Anglo-Saxon race threw a flood of light upon the problems which the great Republic ha* to face, caused chiefly by her alien population. Dr Henry's tribute to the magnificent educational system of his country, in which from the primary school to the university no child is required to pay as much as the price of a copy-book or a lead pencil, and to its effect upon the children of alien immigrants, will not soon be forgotten; and his picture of,the two greatest nations watching 6ide by side to fulfil the great ideals of Christian civilisation, and to orown Christ as the King in commerce, and art, and literature, and politics, will also be long remembered. He is an impassioned orator, with a great command of nervous Anglo-Saxon, an unbounded confidence in the power of Christianity, not only to regenerate the individual, but to reform the community, and the vital relationship between doctrine and ethics is constantly emphasised. All the ministers of the Free Churches of the city are heartily co-operating in the mission.
