In connection M'ith his birthday, King George has conferred the order of the Garter upon Queen Mary, Privy Councillorships upon Prince Arthur of Connaught, Lord Knollys, Sir William Carington, and Sir Arthur Bigge, and a baronetcy upon Major-general Sir Henry E'wart. The King has appointed Prince Louis of BatteUburg his personal naval aide-de-camp, and the Duke of Connaught, Prince Christian, and the Duke of Teck as his personal aides-de-camp. The Maharajahs of Gwalior, Idar, Kutoh, Behar, and Bikaner have been appointed honorary aides-de-camp. . The members of the King's 'Household have received various promotions and appointments of the Victorian order.
