PERILS OF THE SEA.

SYDNEY, June 3. The North Coast Navigation Company's steamer Macleay bumped on the bar of the Macleay River and sprang a leak. The crew were 'kept at the pumps all night, but at daylight the steamer was able to re-enter the river, where she was beached. LONDON, June 2. Fourteen members of the Swanhilda's crew were drowned when the barque went ashore on Staten Island.
