Speaking in the House of Commons, Sir W. Laurier expressed himself as being impressed with Mr Hughe»*s argument against sending a team to Bisley unless the hew rule were withdrawn which declares that no service arm other than that of Great Britain can be used unless in the hands of the British Rifle Association three months in advance. Mr Hughes suggested that private companies had instigated, the rule in order to discredit the Ross rifle.
