Tin: Stocks, 14,297 tons; spot, 1800 tons; afloat, 506 tons; deliveries, 2633 tons. Pig iron, 525. Lead, £14 ss. Ta.knv: The stock is 8627 casks; imports, 5871 casks; deliveries, 5381 casks. At the tallow sales 1030 casks were offered and 954 sold. Mutton: Fine, 31s; medium, 2Ss. Beef: Fine, 2Ss 3d; medium, 26s 6d. The cotton market at .Liverpool is excited, prices falling 15 points owing to the opfiniistic report of the United States Government Bureau.
October 6. The American visible wheat supply is 28,894,000 bushels.
The wheat markets are quiet, but- display a hardening tendency, owing to a large Continental demand. Germany is operating freely In view of a new import duty. Cargoes are quiet, and off coast are held too high. One cargo sold at 33s 4£d. Australian wheat, which is in small compass, is quoted at from 33s to 33s 6d.
Flour is a shade firmer. Patent makes : London, 23s 3d ; Glasgow, 24s 6d to 24s 9d. Freights are active, and several have been fixed for the United Kingdom and the Continent for the new season's grain at Adelaide at 22s 3d and in Victoria at about 23s 9d.
