First Day— Wednesday, October 4.

For the Marlborough Racing Club's meeting there was good weather, and a good attend-prx-e. The sum of £2413 was put through tho totalisatoa-. Results : —

Maiden Hack Race. Five furlongs. — Kaiuku 1, Onetea and Truthful dead heat for second place. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 4 2-ssec. Dividend, £1 19s. Blenheim Handicap. One mile and a distance. — Ngatarua, 9.3, 1; Royal Blue, 8.3, 2; Livonia, 6 32, 3. Also started: White Ribbon 7.10. Won by a length. Time, 2min 2 2-ssec. Dividend, £1 14s. A protest for crossing was dismissed.

Spring Handicap. Six furlongs. — First View 1, Tiwha, 2, Fancy Work 3. Also started: Voucher. Won by a length without difficulty. Time, lmin 18sec. Dividend, £10 10s.

First Trot. One mile.— Scotia 1, Hukarere and Dick Allen dead heat for second place, All started but Mutiny. Won by three lengths. Dividends: Scotia £10 3s; Hukarere, £3 2s;

For the second day of the Marlborough Racing Club's spring meeting there was fine weather and • a good attendance. The sum put 'through the tota-lisator was £2893. Results : —

Dividend, £4 7s. High-weight Handicap. Six furlongs. — Truthful, 10.12, 1; Onetea, 10.10, 2; Barley, 30.7, 3. All started. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 20sec. Dividends, £3 10s and 12a 4d.
