Notes from Clyde. (From Our Own Correspondent.) CLYDE, September 26.

The warm, high winds of yesterday were followed to-day by showers of ram. The river remains unaffected, as snow has fallen upon the mountains. The Monte Christo dredge is operating on very rough ground, and although a soft schist bottom underlies tho wash, the latter is not at all so rich as might have been expected in such a favourable stretch of river.

The Matau dredge continues working upon the part of the claim from which steady returns are expected. The Unity dredge is still operating below th.3 Clyde bridge, and the ground appears to be of a light nature. A rise in the river may be expected a$ any time should the warm winds continue. September 2S.

The Unity diedge is now undergoing an overhaul, aud, consequently, no wash-up may be expected next week. The Monte Chiisto dredge is working steadily, but the ground does not appear to
