DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE
The market opened firmly on Monday morning, and continued so over the two call-overs. Ihe business for tho day amaumted to eight transactions, and for one or two of the stocks dealt in tho inquiry was exceedingly good. The purchase of another claim by the> Alpine No. 2 Company, and the prospecta of another piofitablo ruw therefrom, appeara to have had tlie effect of stimulating good demand for this stock, and yesterday three sales were put through ait ]os. The market at the close had bi-yers at 9s 9d and sellers at 10s 3d. Chicagos were a shade harder, but Electrics weaker, a sale being effected in them at 30s 6di. Golden Runs likewise displayed an easing tendency, buyers quoting at 37s Gd and sellers at 40s. Island Blocks provided a sale at 7s, aaid New A.lpine Consols, which were somewhat harder, nr.a at 13s. Eiley'a Beaches were a shade Rimer. A sale resulted in Rising Suns at 24s »d— Saturday's buying price. — and at" the elosa hiyers were quoting at 24g, and sellers at 24s 3d 1 .
