DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB
T?he monthly meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club Committoo hel-d on the 28th inst. was attended by Messis Solomon (in ihe chair), Ewiug, Hazletl. Miller, Conghlan, Hanlon, and Myers. Apologies were received front Messrs Gow and Thomson.
The Lake County Jockey Club wrote stating that the Alcxandia Club was objecting to the Lake Club changing its dates (already sanctioned by the D.J.C), and as a result th© president of the conference would not assenfc to the o Iteration until the Alexander Club withdrew its objection. The latter now asked the D.J.C. to a&sist the club. It was resolved to recommend the president of the conference to agree to alteration, and that the secretary endeavour to get date arranged to cuit both clubs.
Licenses were granted to W. B. Robb (with! a oaulioii) and E. M'Leau. An application from T. H. Burns was held over.
The Secerecary reported thsi Mr F. W. Woodward, the successful tenderer for tho race books, had arranged for a suitable guarantee that the work would be carried out according to specifications agreed 10.
It was resolved that a joint meeting of the Totali?ator and Works Committees be held at Wingatui on Saturday afternoon to inspect the, alterations to the tcrtalisator houses and course.
The services of the Citizens' Band were secured for the spring meeting on October 11 and 14.
