The Wanganui Jockey Club spring meeting was held to-day in fine weather. Rain threatened in the morning, which . "militated j to some extent against the 'attendance. The j racing.. was excellent throughout. The Wanganui Ghiineas provided a good race, though Mr E. J. Watt's pair won easily at the finish. Petticoat and Multifid added to Multiform' s reputation as a sire, both winning easily. Melodeon 7.12, 167 Glenowlet 7.12, 51 Prelude 7.6. and 31 Blesbok 6.9. Glenowlet was left at the post, but raced into her field. Auratus assumed the lead from Jolly Friar, and at the bend Glenowlet was in third position. Multifid, Regulation and Bla-ek Eenyard moved up along the top stretch. Multifid wa3 first into the straight, and although he swerved under the whip opposite the stand he- won easily by a length from Black Reynard. Regulation was a close third, aftex whom came Jolly Friar, Melodeon, Solution, and Gleuowlet, in that order. Time, lmin 18sec. Dividends. £7 10s and £1 13s. Second Day — Fhiday, September 29. The second day of the Wanganui Jocicey Club's 'Spiing meeting' was held in beautiful weather, and in the presence of a large attendance. The amount put through the niachiii© to-day was £6689, being £49. ahead of the second day la=t year, and making a total of £13,588 for the meeting, or £606 behind last yea.r.
