September 25. — The weather has been vary broken indeed lately, and at the latter end of last week we had three days of veiy heavy rain, and all the creeks were running bank high. Up till Sunday the wind was from the 'east, but yesterday there were cold showers from the S.W., with bright gleams of sunshine in between. This morning does not look too promising.
Obituaiy. — It is niy sad duty to report the very sudden and unexpected death of Mrs Jara.es Find'later, which took place on Thursday night at the residence of her brother, Mr Malcolrnn Allan. Mrs Fmdlater had just come from Dunedin to join her husband, who had been in the district for some time getting a home in order tor his wife and family. The immediate cause of death was hemorrhage of the lungs. Deceased had been ailing for some time, but nothing serious w»3 anticipated by her family, and it is all the more s>ad that she has left three little children, the eldest not much more thaTi three years of age. The funeral took place on Sunday, and was attended by a large number of relatives and friends. Mr Bachelor (missionary) conducted the services at the grave. Mr James Findlater has the sympathy of the whole district m his sad bereavement.
