LOCAL FIRMS' STOCKS OF FISHING REQUISITES.

Messrs Wilkie and Co. are now making a big display of novelties calculated to interest the angler. ThSir experience in this line, extending over some 30 year 3. is a guarantee that their stock i 3 well selected and suited to the requirements of all New Zealand anglers. Among the new goods t notice some likely-looking new patterns of flies and minnows. They also make a strong feature of their Reliance casts and traces, which have now stood the test of experience for many years. Their stock of rods is a very complete one, ranging from the cheapest boys' rods to the acme cf perfection in Hardy's steel centre rod. Their new season's catalogue is now ready, and every angler should obtain a copy. I have had pleasure in examining this season's minnows shown by Mr H. Isaacs, 156 Moray place, Dunedin. They consist of a large variety of the well-known Osmond New Zealand .patent minnow, made in t-out, eel, and soleskin, etc.. in all sizes, and suited for all streams. I Messrs A. and W. M'Carthy's fishing tackle catalogue for the season 1905-06 is to I hand. The catalogue is illustrated by numerous photographs, and the various ; goods are briefly and clearly described. The rods are a particularly fine selection, ani.l [ in '•eels the leaders are a fine line of revolving plate reels with works of steel. The I firm has the usual good assortment of cast^. j traces, fiie?, minnows, and other fishing ! gear.
