The North Canterbury Executive met on (Wednesday last, Mr J. A. Parinett (president) in the chair. A. circular was received "from Mr J. -6. Wilson asking the branch to move in the matter of obtaining for the children .of New Zealand efficient,.instruction in rural education by requesting the members for the district to join with others in insisting that the Government should devote time and attention to the subject. It was resolved that the motion contained in the circular should be approved of. — A letter was received from Mr W. Jaques, the Government canning expert, stating that hie would be visiting Canterbury about September 16, and would h& plad to deliver a- lecture her© if so desired, and if the branch would select a subject and' dates. It was^ resolved to forward the letter to the . chairman of the Harewood Road branch \fc> allow him to act as he might choose.
