THE ENGLISH DERBY. LONDON, May 31. The race for the Derby resulted as follows : — DERBY STAKES, of 6500sovs, by subscription of 50 guineas each; nominator of the winner to receive 500sovs; if not sufficient surplus is obtained from subscriptions to give the second at lease dOOsovs and the third at least 20030v5, the difference to be made up by the race fund. One mile and a-half. Lord Bosebery's eh c Cicero, by Cyllene — Gas, 9.0 1 M. E. Blanc's b c Jardy, by Flying Fox — Airs and Graces, 9.0 2 Chevalier E. Ginistrelli's b c Signorino, by Best Man — Signorina, 9.0 3 Cicero won the Derby by three-quarters of a l«ngth in record time. A head divided second arid third horses. The King and the Prince of Wales witnessed the race. This is Lord Rosebary's third Derby. He ■won in 1894 yith Ladas, and in 1895 -with Sir Visto. " i THE OAKS STAKES.
