Mr and Miss Maude have taken Captain Hutton's house during his absence on a visit to England.

Miss Murray-Aynsley gave a bridge party on Saturday evening, among her guests being Mrs Pitman, Strs Pyne, Mrs G. Gould, MrsWardrop, Miss E. Reeves, and Mrs George Lee.

The river was looking its best, with the autumn tints_ showing among the fine trees fringing its banks, and a merry time was spent by the party, which included the Misses Burns, Julius, Merton, Stead, Nancarrow, Mills, Cooke, Moore, Stead, and Anderson.

The marriages of Miss Nancarrow and Mr Maclean and Miss Mackellar and Mr S. Rutherford are to take place after Lent.
