HALFMOON BAY. March 27

Ragwort has taken complete possession of the Government reserve at The Neck. It is now in fuh bloom, and a more for-midable-looking weed could not be concehed. It is for the present confined to the reserve, but if allowed, unchecked, to seed, it w ill pollute the neighbourhood, which means starvation to the small herds of sheep and cattl-o owned by the settlers. The Roy. Mr Jameson. Anglican clergyman, in charge of this portion of the diocese, is about to remove to Hokitika. Nothing has transpired as to the appointment of a succ-ssor.
