PORTODDELLO.
The monthly meeting of the PortobelLo Road ?Boaxd -was held on Saturday last; present — ftlessrs J. Dickson (chairman), Wright, Hardy, IMacandrew, Oro?s, Beacon, M'Cartney, and JSeatocn. Mr Thomas Begg appeared in reference to a call made at his stone-crushing works, Anderson's Bay, by the board's inspector re £00 yards of 2£in bluestone metal. Mr Begg ttffered to supply the same at a certain price, und the board accepted the offer, delivery to commence at once. Mr W. Raynbird offered *o place on <ih» toslcL 100 yards of blu«ston« epowls at a price similar to thai charged by Jbim cm a previous occasion. — The offer was accepted. It Dira.s~then resolved that a deputation meet Mr Barr and Mr Rogers, and see af they would supply the same quantity each, a report to be furnished at next meeting. Mr IHutchison forwarded a plan of Mrs Garrick's property, showing that Mrs Garrick's present fence was greatly within her own^croperty, and -that to give him her linkage would place her ifence in the tidal waters. — It was resolved that as no roadline -was available in the meantime, j aio action bo taken in the matter. Mrs TT. W. Winchester wrote asking the board to snake a cart entrance to her property in Seatoun. — It was decided that the writer be informed as to the conditions upon which •ihe board would do the work. Mr W. Clearwater wrote requesting the board to strike lis name off the rat» book and substitute that of his son John "G Clearwater. — The letter was Teceived. Jn a-ccordance with " The Local Elections Act, 1504," Mr Porterfield was appointed returning officer to the board. Tlia inspector's report was adopted, and the accounts were passed for payment.
