March G.— Another month of the year is gone, and we are now into March February was a, great improvement as regards weather, as

Fain? News. — At present this is a slack timo on the farm. All tlie grass is sown, and the crop, being later this year, is not yet ready ror harvesting. Grass-thieshing is net quite finishpd. Turnips are coming en n-eil, the late rains freshening them up agair. Social Gathering. — Quite a large number c£ early settlers from the Warepa district were present at the gathering at Mr Telford's estate.

Churcli Social. — Tha annual church social was helcl at Hpihiku on Thursday, 23rd tilt. Tho evening was fine, and there was a veiy lar^e attendance. The choir, unde. Mr J . Johnson, rendered several anthems and pieces, and the rest of the pro-gramme consisted of organ solos, solos, and recitations. The speakers were the "Hey. J. Orr, and Rev. D. Borne '.Dunedin).
