A correspondent of a Melbourne exchange writes -as follows: — "Some time ago one of the boys working for me located a fox and! cubs in a iollow Jog. He chopped, them out, and /got fcwo cubs, but the mother escaped. There -was a varied assortment of debris in the log; fowls, ducks, parrots' - feathers, 'rabbits' and lambs' fur,- and several snakes (remains only) ; the heads were not there, but I cannot" say now about the tails. But I know we ail commented on the ,fact that 4o much of the snakes was untouched. "-
