It was a famous mantle, broad and wide; In textme firm and strong, and lined inside "With Hai'nxony's true colouring, Peace and Gcoc (fellowship with Understanding woven (I -wore it just a, year, so it was tried and proven;. My little friend once ar-ued. in this v.ay — "Platonic friendship is the kind to s^ay, With grand broad-minded teachings." I watched her eyes, so sweet with fervour burning, And promptly donned the cloak, to hide my own heart's yearning. I cast it off impulsively at last. Aid unencumbered caught and held her fast In peifect whole sinrender. Ah, Cloak of Friendship, I need thee no longer, For fiom thy sheltering folds has sprung A love much strorger. — B. Lawloe.
