The dead beat in the 100 yds Championship was deckled to-day on the same ground. Muny interested spectators were present. Hunter (Victoria) jumped off more smartly, and although Barker (New South Wales) struggled every ounce he was unable to get ,on terms, Hunter winning hy half a dozen inches. Time, 10 l-osec — standard time.

Filial results for the Pennant Championship : — Victoria 7, New South Wales 5, New Zealand 3. Victoria scored 10 seconds, so had Simpson, won the longdistance events Victoria would still have been the wimiers of the Pennant.

At last night's smoke coucprfc great sympathy was expressed over Simpson's misfortune.
