We quote wages as follows : — Bindei workers and stackers 50s ; general harvesters Canterbury, Is per hour; Otago, 9c? and lOd ; ploughmen, 22s 6d, 255, with bonus of from £2 to £8 ; contract stookers and forkers, 2s 9d to 3s 6d per acre ; threshing mill hands, 9d pel hour; milkers, 15s, 17s 6d, 20s, C2s 8d ; flaxmil) hands, 53 to 7 r per day ; hotel grooms and porters, 17s 6d , waiters, 255 ; harvest cooks, 25 to 50s ; tation cooks-bakers, 255, 30s ; station blacksmiths, 30s ; housekeepers, 15s, 17s 6d.
