BALCLUTHA STOCK SALE.
The Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association report having held their fortnightly stock sale at the Corporation Yards, Balchitha, on Friday last, January 22. The attendance of farmers and traders was only moderate, and in consequence prices obtained were in favour cd buyers. They yarded and sold 81 head of cattle at the following range of prices- — Fat heifers, £5 to £6 ss; fat staers (light weights), £S to £6 10s ; store steers and heifer 3 (two years old), £3 12s to £4 4s ; dry cows, £3 10s to £5 ; yearling heifers, £2 to £2 los ; cows (wi.th calves at foot), £5 to £6 ss. SLeep: The yarding was small, as is usual at this season. They cleared their entry at for fpt ewes and ■wethers (light weights), 15s; twe-tcoth wethers and ewes, in fair condition, 13s 7d to 13s Sd A good yarding of p-gs, all of which sold at satisfactory prices.
