GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORTS.

Dalgety and Co. report having held their usual weekly sale of gr-un and produce at their stores on Monday, when they submitted a large catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Competition for all lines, with the- exception! of chaff, wa;> fairly brisk, and the bulk of their catalogue was cleared at prices well within values. Prices ruled as under. —

Oats —During the past week more oats suitable for shipping and milling have been offering, and merchants have difficulty in obtaining orders at prices asked, consequently the market is slightly easier. Low grade oats continue ta offer freely, but are not in request. Quotations: Prime milling, Is 5d to Is 5Jd ; good tw best feed, Is 4d to Is 4Jd ; inferior to medium, 9d to Is 2d per bushel (sacks extra).

Wheat. — This market remains quiet. Tha small business passing is in choice linos o£ northern wheat, for which, however, there is only a limited demand. Fowl wheat has still a fair sale at prices on a par with late values*. Quotations: Prime milling, 3s to 3s 3d; medium milling, 2s 3d to 2s lid ; good, whole fowl wheat, 2s 5d to 2s 7d ; broken and damaged, 2s to 2s 3d per bushel (sacks extra)

Potatoes. — The supply is equal to the demand. Prime kidneys are slow of sale at £ 2 to £2 10s, and medium at from £1 10s to £1 15s per ion (bags in).

Chaff. I—Large1 — Large consignments continue to come forward, and prime oaten sheaf is the only, quality that meets with any inquiry, and salesi are difficult to effect at prices ruling last week. Quotations: Prime oaten sheaf, £2 15s to £3; medium to good, £2 5s to £2 10s; inferior and straw chaff, 30s to 40s per ton (bags extra).

Wheat. — Local stocks of prime milling quality are now much leduced, and medium, sorts have little attention from buyers. Fowl wheat, although not so strongly inquired for, has fair demand at prices a shade below late quotations. We quote : Prime milling, 3s to 3s 3d ; medium to good, 2s 8d to 2s lid ; whole fowl wheat, 2s 5d to 2s 7d ; broken and damaged, la lOd to 2s 3d per bushel extra; .

Potatoes. — The market continues to b. 1 ~ --- supplied, and shows no improvement in values; indeed, anything but good, freshly-dug lots is only saleable at a reduction In values. We quote : Best kidneys, £2 to £2 10s ; others, £1 10s to £1 17s 6d per ton (sacks in).

Chaff. — After a dearth of prime quality, the market has become fully supplied, large consignments of good to prime quality having come forward of late. In the face of these supplies it has been impossible to maintain late values, and prices for choice quality have suffered to the extent of about ss, and other sorts to about 10s per ton.
