LONDON, January 26. The Union Bank of Australasia report shows ihe deposits to be £15,526,000; cash investments and balance of remittances, £7,232,000; Wlls> and securities, £12,497,000. Wheat : 7500 quarters of South Australian, by sailer February and March shipment, sold at 29s 3d. Copper: Spot, £56 ss; three months, '£ss 18s 9d. - The wool sales included the following clips : Avondale. lOd; Moramger, B|d ; Collindana, 9fd; Ruthven, Is 10£ d. At the wool sales merinos were firm, and inferior crossbreds were occasionally cheaper. Stocks and Shares. — Union Bank, £45 ; Bank of "New Zealand debentures, £100; New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, £83. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,135,000 quarters, and for tHe Continent 645,000 quarters. The Atlantdc shipments were 185,000 and the Pacific shipments 35,000 quarters. January 27. Three months' bills are discounted at 3 1-16 per cent. Copper : Spot, £56 3s 9d ; three months, £56. Lead, £11 12s 6d. Wheat: 12,500 quarters of South Australian January and February shipment and 10,000 quarters February and March shipment sold at 295. At the tallow sale 3 526 casks were offered, and 255 sold. Prices are unchanged. The American visible wheat supply is estimated at 63,120,000 bushels. January 28. January 29. The Bank of England returns "show the stock of gold coin and bullion to be £32,325,000, and the reserve £24,573,000. The of reserves to liabilities is 49.20. The notes in circulation total £28,043,000 ; public deposits, £5,976,000; other deposits, £43,831,000; Govern ment securities, £19,233,000; and other securities, £24,248,000. Consols, £88. At the kauri gum auctions 2980 cases were offered, and 800 sold, chiefly chips and sittings, ai full prices. No three-quarter scraped was £old.

Lead, £11 8s 9d. The Frozen Meat Trade Association's Smithfield market quotations for the above-men-tioned classes of frozen meats are based on actual sales of not less than 100 carcases of mutton or lamb, or 25 carcases of beef, of fair average quality. These quotations are not for eelectedi lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of the shipments now on the market.
