WELLINGTON, Januaiy 27. At a meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union Committee this evening a discussion, took place on a matter brought forward by tne Manawatu Rugby Union involving- the action of the Wangauui Union 111 letting off, without penalties, certain players belonging to \\ ?uganui uho vare ordered off the field by the lofpico who controlled the Wanganui v. Manawatu representative rratch. It was resolved—" That as under tne rules of the game the referee is made the sole judge of fart, this committee is of opinion that evidence for the purpose of disproving the referee's decision on a point of fact snould not be admitted m any inquiry of this description. This being the cass, the committee is further of opinion that the Wangonxu Union tos m error in passing xhe resolution exonerating the playeis."
