AMATEUR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.
A Eseeting of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held on Thursday in the Otago Cycling Club's rooms, when there were present— Mr W. Lang (vicepresident, m the chair), Messrs H. Sovith and A Marryatt (vice-presidents), and the following delegates— Messrs A. Cannon and G. Moreton (Dunedin Haniers), J. T. Hamann and J. Mooney (D.A A.C.), H. Divers (North Otago), and F. A. Webb (Invercargill). An apology was received from Mr D. Leslie. The Secretaiy reported that he had issued 22 competitors' licenses since last meeting. DUNEDIN AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB
A committee meeting of the above club was* held on Thursday at the Otago Cycling Club's rooms, Mr S. Jacobs (vice-president) in tba chair.
With regard to the annual sports meeting, i 6 was decided to hold the meeting on the Caledonian Ground on Saturday, 12th March, and Messrs Hoare, Moojiey, Dey, and Hamann were appointed a sub-committee to make all arrangements.
Satisfaction was expressed at the success of the evening sports' meetings held this season.
Owing to the paucity of entries for Throwing the Hammer it was decided to substitute a halfmile flat at next Friday evening's meeting, and entries will be rcoeived by the secretary up to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
It was announced that the 220 yds Amateur Flat Handicap had been placed upon the Otago Cycling Club's programme, and would be held on Saturday, March 5, entries closing in February 27.
A meeting of the Sports Committee of the D.A.A.C. was held on Friday, when the preliminary details of the .forthcoming sporta meeting to be held on the Caledonian Ground: on Saturday, March 12, were put in hand. The piogramme will be issued during the coming week, and athletes generally should be well satisfied with Ihe prizes to be offered. Judging fiom the businesslike manner ln.^ which the committee is tackling its work/ the success of the meeting should be assured.
