HOBART, January 26. The Englishmen in their first innings made 185 runs (Foster 43, Warner 26, Bosanque-t 35, Relf 24), the Tasmanians responding with 191 (Burn, not out, 28, Haweon 29, Dodds 24, Douglas 29). In their eeoond innings the visitors compiled 354 for four wickets (Warner 64, Tyldesley 85, Poster 23, Knight, not out, 45, Bosanquet, not out, 124) and then declared their innings closed, leaving the local men to make 349 to win.
