THE MOROCCO TROUBLE
LONDON, June 2. Fifty- c ix Moors were killed and 20 wounded in the attack on M. Jounart, Governor of Algeria, by Figuig brigand^. Two and a-half batteries have left Oiw and Sefra for Beui and Ouuif. The latter in future will be the base against Figuig, which is to be occupied temporarily. The Moorish troops brought to Fe. 25 licad-s and 200 Kabyle prisoners. June 3. Moorish soldiers, under French officers, are proceeding via. Algiers to reinforce the Figuig garrUon. The French forces will summon the Zeaugua tribe to surrender the murderers and looters in the recent ambuscade and other outbreaks, otherwise their stronghold will be bombarded. A groat gatheiing of Moroccan chiefs are holding a we-bb.ir, at which thf y will diicu^-j a proposed s-iced war. PARIS, Juno 4. M. Comb'"':, the Premier, has announced the expedition to Figuig (North Africa) as a purely punitive one. Assurances had hopn given to England anct Spain that it was not intended to annex any territory.
