"Tommy," said the teacher, "is there any difference between the words 'sufficient' and 'enough'?" "Yes'm," rej-.lied the youngster. " 'Sufficient' is when mother thinks I have eaten enough pie, and 'enousl? Is when I think I have eaten 'sufficient.' " The teacher was telling them about the different season?. He asked : "Now, one of ycu boye, tell me which is th« proper time to gather apples?" "When the dog's chained up," replied Johnnie. Little four-year-old Edith had ben spending the afternoon with an old couple across the street. "I hope you behaved like a lady." said hpr mother upon her return. ''Indeed. I did." replied Edith. "Every time I yawned I put my hand over my mouth !" Mother: "What! Have you heen fiffhtinz again, Johnnie? Good little boys don't fight." Johnnie: "Yes. I know that. I thought he was a eood little boy. but after I hit him once I found he wasn't."
