In keeping with the usual order of things sifter the returns for the week come to hand, •"business on ihe Dunedin Sto:k Exchange was particular ly chill on Monday morning, when only tyro parcels of shares changed hands. It improved in tire afternoon, but even then was tnest up to the usual standard, the transactions .■feeing confined to nine sales in four stocks. The returns for last week are on the whole •very satisfactory, nearly all the dredges getting •BniSciently good returns to leave a margin after -working expenses are provided for, and on the •strength, of this sellers -were inclined to move lip a little, while buyers are apparently waiting to see what the prospects for the present week are before operating. The river has now fallen to 4ft 1m above the normal mark, and the •weather continues fine. At the morning call ithe Annie Queen Company applied to be listed on, the Exchange, the application being granted. This company has a capital of £2300 in £1 shares. The directors are Messrs D. A. Jolly (chairman), James Ledingharn, D. Xicoison, and N. Thomas. The claim is being worked on tribute by the Upper Magnetic Company's dredge, the tribute agreement giving that company power to work the claim for three year - The company ha 3 been registered under the new Companies Act. Sellers of Crom-■v.-ella have been steady at from 57s 6d to 60s, iiut buyers have varied from 51s to 555. At the beginning of kst week Dunstan Leads were •wonted at 5s 3d, with sellers at 7s Cd, and they iarderced until Wednesday, but since then louvers have dropped back to ss. A -sale was made at 7s 3d on "Wednesday. Fir3t Chances -wers firm all last week, buyers offering from 7& to Ss 3d, with sellers at from 8s 6d to 9s, "but the former fell back to 7s on Monday, while the latter advanced to 9s 3d. Sales were effected at 8s 3d and 8s on Monday week, and at 8s on Wednesday. Golden Rivera hare hardened a little. On Monday week buyers offered 7s holders wanting 7a 6d, while the latest quotations are 7» 7\d and 7s 9d. Sales were made at 7s Oid on Tuesday, at 7s on Wednesday at 7b and 7s*3d on Thursday, at 7s 3d and 7s Id on Saturday, and 7a 9d on Monday, four lots being taken up at that price. A lot of business has been done in Junction Electrics, but the stock is weaker now than it was a week ago. Sales were recorded at 21s 3d and 22s 6d on Monday week, when the c'oshig quotations verp 22* Cd and 223 3d. at 22s Cd and 23s on Tuesday, at 10s 3d en Thursday, imd at 20s 6d oa Saturday, while the latest quotes are 21a 3d and 22s ' Leviathan preference share3^he.ve eased a little, buyers dropping from 8s to 7s 6d, and sellers i-ora Ss to 8s 6d.
