OTAGO RUGBY UNION.

The weekly meeting of the O.R.F.U. Committee, held at the Chamber of Commerce on Monday, was attended by Messrs Hutchison (president), Gallaway. Macassey, Harris, Duncan, Wilkinson, Priest, Smith, and Campbell \seoretary). The Secretary of the Canterbury Union wrote stating that, in regard to the proposed junior interprovincial matche3, the Canterbury Union considered that only players taking part in junior flag matches should bo eligible for selection. — The secretary was instructed to reply that the committee agreed to the suggestion for the conduct of matches this year, but would ask the Canterbury Union to consider the advisability of including country players in future rontcnts. It was decided, in reply to a communication from the Tokomairiro Club asking that the South Otago clubs should be brought to Dimedin to play a match on Coronation Day, that the committee could not see their way to grant the request, but would consider the advisability of "bringing a team up later in the season. It was decided to hold a special meeting to consider the advisability of registering the union under "The Unclassified Society's Act, 189o." A request from a member of the Lawrence Club for the removal of the disqualification imposed on him at the end of the season 19G0 was declined. The secretary was instructed to ask the I^awrence Star Club if the game player had played in a practice match with that club last week. It was derided to lease the Kaikorai ground, and also Tahuna Part, for the present season.
