~« > THE SENTENCE OF THE ASSASSIN. EOME, August 29. The trial of Bressi for the murder of King Humbert is proceeding. Immense precautions are being taken against outrages by the Anarchists. King Humbert's life was insured for one million four hundred thousand (? pounds or lira). August 30. Bressi maintained an attitude of indifference at his trial, and declared that he acted alone to avenge the acts of the authorities in Sicily and during the Milan bread riots. The prisoner was sentenced to perpetual imprisonment.
