There is considerable dissatisfaction ecpressecl at the inadequacy of the fSfoins suggested in the Stoke Commission's report, and a public meeting in connection with the matter is being called "for next Monday. Whilst legislators were on a visit here they showed much interest in connection with the Stoke Industrial School. At the request of Mr J. Hutcheson, M.H.R., a duplicate has been made by the maker of tho original chains which were used to put; round the boys' ankles. It is_ of a quarterinch coil of chain, which is 'heavier than a plough or trace chain. Each final link wag inserted through one of the links and fastened to a padlock. The weight was 311s 4oz, including padlocks.
