ASSOCIATION. Trial Match.
The third trial match was played at Bishopscourt on Saturday. The ground, considering the amount of rain that foil last week, was in wonderfully good cojidjtion. The Blues registered a goal two minutes after the kick-off. Their opponents, however, soon set to work, and at the end of the game had 9 goals to their credit, as against the Blues' 2. The compilation of the Colours' forwards was superb, although the Blues' backs were untiring in their efforts to stem the tide of attack. For the Colours goals were scored by D. M'Millan (4), Ohadwiek (S), J. M'Millan and W. Morrison ; while Cowan and Paton scored for the Blues. The final trial match will be played next Saturday. The team leave here on the 13 Ih ins(., arriving in Wellington the following day. They play a match at Wellington on the 15th, and then go on to Auckland, arriving there on September 19. They will play in the final for the shield. As the expense of the trip will be very heavy, the different clubs and all supporters of the game in Dunedin are asked to assist the association to successfully j finance the trip.
