NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION WELLINGTON, August 29.

The Managing Committee of the New Zea-' land Rugby Union, passed the following resolution : — "That this committee cannot agree with the opinion expressed by the Otago Rugby Union that its liability to Mr Lewis was caused by the carelessness of the secretary of the New Zealand Union, and regrets that such a resolution should have been carried. Had the mistake" arisen • from" such a cause this committee would have had no hesitation in refunding the amount." In ,order to remove any misunderstanding, it was resolved to inform the New South Wales Rugby Union that it was the intention of the New Zealand Union that in future each colonial union having a team on tour should pay absolutely all expenses.
