THE GAZETTE. WELLINGTON August 30.
A notification appears in the Gazette stating that Tasmanian absolutely prohibits the importation into the colony of all kinds of fruit trees, and a number of other trees and shrubs. Mr J. H. Witheford, M.H.R., is appointed trustee q^E the Auckland Savings Bank. Mr P. J. Dunne, of Cromwell, has resigned liis J.P.'-ship. The arrivals in the colony last month totalled 897, and the departures 938.
