TAIERI STOCK FAIR AND HORSE SALE.

'' Messrs Donald Reid and Co. (Limited) report having held their usual monthly sale at the Taieri saleyards, Allanton, on Tuesday, •when they submitted an entry of 50 head cattle and eight horses. The entry of cattle was made Tip of 'one and two-year-old steers and heifers and dairy cows. There was a large gathering of farmers and others present. All descriptions of cattle were in brisk demand, and the •entire entry -changed hands at very satisfactory prices. Two-year-old steers sold at £i 2s to £5 Ss, yearling steers and heifers at £1 17s -to £2 12s, calves at £1 Ss to £1 10s, dry cows at £i 6s to £6 16s, dairy cows at £3 10s to £7 2s 6d. The entry of horses was made up mostly of hacks. The few draughts offered met a splendid sale at up to £47.
