CLEARING SALE.
Messrs Donald Reid and Co. (Limited) report as follows: — We held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr Thomas Ranisay at- his farm, Fairleigh, near Hyde, on Monday, the 19th inst., when we submitted all his stock and implements for unreserved sale. There was a very large gathering of neighbours anxious to testify their good feeling to Mr Ramsay, who was about to leave the district, as well as farmers, graziers, and others in quest of stock, etc. There was a fair competition for all the stock, Implements, -?tc., and, with the exception of the binder, which, owing to the harvest being past in the district, did not find a buyer, everything was disposed of at fairly satisfactory prices. Horses sold at .217 10s to £27; cattle Kcows), £3 te; steers and heifers, JB2 17s; crossi>red ewes to 12s; lambs. 9s to 10s; merino ewes (full mouth), 5s 7d. Implements, etc., sold at fair prices.
