DUNEDIN PIPE BAND.
A meeting of committee of the Dunedin Pipa Baud was held in Mr W. Reid's office, 27 Eattray street, on Thursday evening. It was decided io order the Highland uniforms at once for 20 members. Messrs Hallenstein and Co.'j tender for supplying same was accepted. Tin ! unifoims will be made m their fueloiy here and will be somewhat similar to that of the Southland Pipe Band. The other necessarj accoutrements, such as caps, shoulder belts etc., will be imported by them from Home. The work will be put in hand at once, and in a comparatively short time the pipers will bo abl« to don the tartan of the famous Gordons. As soon as the present patriotic appeals are satisj iied an effort will be made to collect the neces- ! sary funds required to clear off the balance still due for uniforms. Lovers of pipe music are reminded that the treasurer is Sir W. Heid 27 Rattray street, and subscriptions received by hinj will be duly acknowledged. This being a Scotch settlement it is to be hoped th: peopl» of Dunedin will heartily support the national music of Scotland, and send along what they can afford. ■ \
