EASTER ENCAMPMENT.

WELLINGTON, March 12,

Circulars are being issued by the Defence department to-day to officers commanding tile various districts throughout the colony concerning the Easter encampment for volunteers. Encampments are to be held for seven days. A combined camp for Otago and Canterbury forces is to be held in the vicinity of either Timaru or Oamaru. The Wellington camp is to be pitched at the Lower Hutt, as the centre of the district, which, will include Wanganui, Hawke's Bay, and Nelson. The Auckland camp will practise defence from a western position. Mounted rifle corps are to remain in camp for seven days, so as to complete their camp terms as specified under the mat.
