GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT.

Messrs T. E. Shiel and Co. report for week ending March 14: —

Wheat. — We quote : Best TiiF^an and velvet, 2s 6d; medium, 2s sd; seconds, Is 9d and Is lOd ; good fowl wheat, 2s ; inferior, Is 9d ; good demand.

Oats. — We quote: Best milling, 2s Id; best stout feed, 2s; Duns, Is lOd; Danish, Is 9d to Is lOd; Tartarian, Is 9d to Is lOd; inferior, Is 7d to Is Bd.

Barley. — Good malting, 2s Gd to 2s 7d; milling, 2s to 2s Id; feed sorts (no demand), Is 6d to Is 7d.

Chaff. — Best oaten sheaf, "well cut and good .colour, £2 17s 6d to £3; medium, £2 12s 6d to £2 15s ; inferior and light, £2 to £2 ss.

Potatoes. — Prime Derwents now wanted. We quote : 40s to 42s 6d per ton ; Kidneys off sale, best lots 355 ; stale and inferior, 25s to 32s 6d per ton. Straw, 26s per ton.

Ryegrass hay, 60s to 62s 6d per ton,

Butter. — Market tinchanged. Forward all lots to our address, care Cool Stores, Port Chalmers.

Butter boxes, 17s pel dozen, with best vegetable parchment linings.

Pigs. — Excellent demand at 3Jd per lb for medium weights of 130 to 1601b. Poitltry.— -We hold auction sales every Friday at 10 o'clock; competition ensures best prices. We quote: Roosters, 2s 6d to 4s 3d; ducks, 3s 6d to 4s 6d ; hens, 2s 6d lo 3s ; geese, 4s 9d to ss. Turkeys: Cocks, 8d to 9d; liens, 5d to 6d. We anticipate good demand next week. , We receive and sell by auoiion, or privately, every description of, orchard and garden produce, all lots marketed when fresh and good. Extended printed market ieport posted regularly on application.
