PORTOBELLO ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Portobello Road Board was held on Saturday last, the following members being present : —Messrs W. Dickson (chairman), Geary-j Edwards, Macandrew, North, Seaton, Hinckley, and Milne. The Inspector reported on the culvert opposite Mrs Garrick's property^ and leading to the Native reserve, applied for at last meeting by James Riddell and anothere ratepayer. — It was resolved that no action be taken in the matter.' No tenders were received for .the road leading to the Hooper's Inlet School. — It was resolved that the surfacemen do the work. The board also resolved to call for tenders for building sea wall and widening the Beach road from the boundary at Mr B. C. Haggitt's towards the Anderson Bay bridge, tenders to be in by next meeting. The Toll Collecter reported that the sum of £26 Is 9d, including the toll on bicycles, was collected 'for the month. Accounts amounting to £65 lls 6d were passed for payment.
