Company, London, to-day: — "Frozen meat market stocks of all kinds very tight. To-day's quotations : Best Canterbury, 4id; Napier and North Island, 4£d. Lamb, first quality, s^d; second quality, 5d." OUR EXPORT TRADE. WELLINGTON^ May 12. The value of certain exports from the colony were: Butter, £56,888; cheese, £38,162; beef, £10,173; mutton, £110,588; lamb, £97,054-. The chief contributors were : Butter— New Plymouth, £35,286; Wellington, £12,315. Cheese — New < Plymouth, £W,273; Invercargill, £10,992. Beef—Wellington, £6402; Waitara, £2640. MuttonWellington, £43,39+; Christchurch, £28,172;Gisborne, £17,244; Napier, £11,250. -Lambs — Christchurch* £46,875; Timaru, £19,853; Wellington, £10,142; InvercargiH, £9655,., In each instance there is a substantial increase over the corresponding month of last year. , " • - SOUTHLAND PRODUCE MARKET. INVERCARGILL, May 12. Oats have advanced slightly during the week and a much firmer tone exists .in the local market. A strong demand continues for Sydney, West Australia, and Auckland. - Supplies from the country are not more than sufficient to meet shipping demands, and every cample offering is ea.gerly competed for. Values range from Is Id to Is 2d (sacks 4d at up-country .stations). Wheat: Good milling is worth 2s 2d to 2s 3d (sacks extra, up-coun-try). Ryegrass, machine dressed, 2s 6d ex etore ; and farmers' parcels, Is to Is 6d (upcountry).
