Messrs Thomas Paterson and Co, Mansa street, report September 28th : — Fruit. — Market barely supplied, especially choice sorts. Oranges : Sydney, 12s to -13si short supply. Lemons • Auckland, 8s to 10s ; Sydney, 12s. Bananas, also short, 2d to 2|d. Apples: Best Hobart, 12s to 14s; medium and inferior, 8s to 10s ; local, 2-Jd to 3d. Cocoanuts, 9s per sack. Rhubarb, 3d per lb. Peanuts, walnuts, dates, prunes, figs always in stock. Produce. — Eggs: We have large orders ta supply, and can place several thousand dozen; immediately on arrival at full rates. Fresh; butter, 7d to lOd; salt (prime), wanted, aboufi 8d; factory, lOd to lid; inferior and medium, slow of sale, 6d to 7d. Cheese: Factory, 4*3 to 4|d. Bacon: Roll, 7d. Hams, 7Jd to Bd. Pigs, wanted, 4d to 4|d. Beeswax, Is 6d to Is Bd. Honey, 4d to sd. Potatoes have experienced further drop, and are now at £5 to £6. Onions: Californian, 16s 6d;. Canterbury, 15s per cwt. Poultry wanted", and good prices can now be obtained. Hens, 3s 6d to 4s; roosters, 3s 9d to ss; ducks, 4a to ss; geese, 5s to 6s. Received any day for sale. Agents for "Montauk," best -remedy for woolly and scaly blight; Ross's Antidote and Ointment.
