ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. CHRISTCHURCH, September 21.

There was a good attendance to-day. The entries comprised 253 cattle, 9658 sneepj and 213 pigs. Fat Cattle.— The 116 head yarded met with keen competition, and some lots tvere quite 10s a head up from the previous week, while the prices of others was fully maintained. A line of steers from Otago fetched £7 7s 6d to £8 2s 6d, and one bullock £11 7s 6d; other steers, £5 to £8 12s 6d; heifers (light), £4 to £5 17s 6d; cows, £3 15s to £8 2s 6d. This was at the rate of from 14s per 1001b fox inferior to 23s to 25s for prime beef. Fat Sheep. — The entry consisted largely of southern sheep, 5000 on consignment, and included nothing of special quality. All the top quotations were lower than last week's, whilevalues were very firm, and occasionally higher. Prime heavy crossbred wethers, 18s to 19s Id ; prime freezing wethers, 16s to 17s 6d; lighter and mixed sexes, from 14s 6d; prime heavy ewes, 16s to 17s ; medium to good, 13s to 15s 6d , prime merino wethers, 13s to 14s lOd; medium, from 9s 6d; Otago and Southland wethers sola from 13s 5d to 19s, a few being taken fox freezing at 15s 6d to 17s 7d. Fat lambs sold readily at 9s to 16s 3d, tho general run being 11s to 14s. Pigs. — There was a very keen demand for ah fat lots at full rates — namely, 4Jd to 4Jd per lb. Baconers realised 36s to 60s"; porkers, 26s to 31s 6d; stores extremely scarce; weaners, 10s 9d to 15s 6d.
