The Seafield Estates. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — I received the enclosed to-day, which speaks for itself. The Seafield estates are by no means as represented to bo by some. The management has been good for many years. — I am, etc., John M'Bean. The following appeared in the London Slnr of Monday last, and will be read with more ' than ordinary interest: — "Caroline, Lady Boa ' field, is one of the richest women in Scotland. ' She owns the whole of the Grant estates, ly- j ing in four counties, and her wealth has thin feature of interest — I hat it is derived entirely from the affection of a son. The eighth earl, who died in 1881, left everything to his mother. Lady Seafield has ; however, made a generous settlement, by which the estates will revert to the earldom on her death."
— It is said that lib of bxitter gives a Work- I ing force equal to that of 51b of beef* 911) of I potatoes, or 121b of milk. ' '
