Wheat Prices.— Southland. TO THE EDITOR.
Sib, — In your issue of Saturday, the 21sfr, your repot t from Invercargill states tbat large salee have been made at 5s per banhel on trucks. Now. I have^made tuquiry at the local millers," and find 4-s 6d or so is the highest quotation. •- - - _ Aa reports of this kind (and this is not the first) are misleading, I. would suggest that your agent here ehould above all things be correct in his information before pub'ifhing it. — I am. &c, . li.vercargilll, May 23. Merchant.
[The quotation was in a Press Association telegram, and having referred the complaint to the association's agent at Invercargill we learn that he takes his information from the market report of the local paper, whicb, though published in both tbe daily and weekly paper, has not been challenged there. It may bo mentioned that in. the Dunedin .. market reports which appeared in our columns two dajrs-pjgviausly to the publication of the telegram about which our correspondent complains, quotations were up to ss, and that more than one of the -firms quota that price on trucks at country sidings. — Ed.'O.D.T.]
